Cinque Terre Hiking Trail
The Cinque Terre hiking trail (Sentiero Azzurro) connects all five villages along the coast with a paid trail card. The trail passes through vineyards, olive groves, and terraced hillsides with views over the Ligurian Sea.

Vernazza
Vernazza is often called the most beautiful of the five Cinque Terre villages, with a natural harbor, a ruined watchtower, and colorful houses stacked around a small piazza. Free to walk. The Doria Castle above the village charges a small fee for panoramic views. Budget travelers take the train from Riomaggiore, walk the harbor, swim at the small beach, and eat focaccia from a bakery on the main street.
