Cinque Terre Hiking Trail
The Cinque Terre hiking trail (Sentiero Azzurro) connects all five villages along the coast with a paid trail card. The trail passes through vineyards, olive groves, and terraced hillsides with views over the Ligurian Sea.

Corniglia
Corniglia is the only Cinque Terre village not directly on the sea, perched on a hilltop 100 meters above the water. The Lardarina stairway (382 steps from the train station) is the traditional way up. Free to walk. Corniglia is the smallest and quietest of the five villages with a main street, a church square, and a terrace viewpoint over the coast. Budget travelers climb the Lardarina (or take the cheap minibus), find the terrace, and see the Cinque Terre coastline from the only village that looks down on the sea instead of across it.
