The Cinque Terre hiking trail (Sentiero Azzurro) connects all five villages along the coast with a paid trail card. The trail passes through vineyards, olive groves, and terraced hillsides with views over the Ligurian Sea.

Riomaggiore
Riomaggiore is the southernmost of the five Cinque Terre villages, a stack of colorful houses tumbling down a narrow valley to a tiny harbor. Free to walk. The main street runs from the train station down to the water. Budget travelers arrive by regional train (cheap), walk down to the harbor, swim off the rocks, and eat at the small restaurants near the water.
