The Eagle's Nest (Kehlsteinhaus) is a mountaintop retreat built for Hitler in 1938, perched at 1,834 meters above the Berchtesgaden valley. The building is now a restaurant and viewpoint.

The Volksgarten (People’s Garden) is a formal garden between the Hofburg and the Ringstrasse with over 400 varieties of roses, the Temple of Theseus (a neoclassical replica of the Hephaestion in Athens), and the Empress Elisabeth (Sisi) memorial. Free. The rose garden blooms from May to October. Budget travelers sit among the roses with the Ringstrasse on one side and the Hofburg on the other and enjoy one of the most elegant free gardens in Vienna.

Getreidegasse
Salzburg's most famous street and the heart of the Altstadt. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born at No. 9 (Mozart's Birthplace). The Hagenauer family, the Mozarts' landlord, lived in the same building. The street is known for its medieval wrought-iron guild signs, narrow passages (Durchhäuser), and historic shopfronts.
Hohensalzburg Fortress

Mirabell Gardens
The formal baroque gardens adjoining Mirabell Palace, freely accessible to all visitors. Franz Anton Danreiter created the definitive layout around 1730. Famous as the location where Julie Andrews performed "Do-Re-Mi" in The Sound of Music. The view toward Hohensalzburg Fortress is one of the most photographed scenes in the city.
Mönchsberg
The prominent cliff-faced hill on the western edge of the Altstadt, rising directly above the city. Topped by the Museum der Moderne Monchsberg and criss-crossed with walking paths. The cliff face forms the backdrop of Stift St. Peter, the Felsenreitschule, and the Grosses Festspielhaus.
