The Eagle's Nest (Kehlsteinhaus) is a mountaintop retreat built for Hitler in 1938, perched at 1,834 meters above the Berchtesgaden valley. The building is now a restaurant and viewpoint.

The Stiegl Brauwelt is the visitor experience of Austria’s largest private brewery, located in the Maxglan district. Entry is paid (includes tastings). The self-guided tour covers brewing history and process with generous beer tastings at multiple stations. Budget travelers who enjoy beer pay the ticket and get both the experience and the tastings for less than the same number of beers would cost in a pub.

Getreidegasse
Salzburg's most famous street and the heart of the Altstadt. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born at No. 9 (Mozart's Birthplace). The Hagenauer family, the Mozarts' landlord, lived in the same building. The formal baroque gardens adjoining Mirabell Palace, freely accessible to all visitors. Franz Anton Danreiter created the definitive layout around 1730. Famous as the location where Julie Andrews performed "Do-Re-Mi" in The Sound of Music. The view toward Hohensalzburg Fortress is one of the most photographed scenes in the city.
Mönchsberg
The prominent cliff-faced hill on the western edge of the Altstadt, rising directly above the city. Topped by the Museum der Moderne Monchsberg and criss-crossed with walking paths. The cliff face forms the backdrop of Stift St. Peter, the Felsenreitschule, and the Grosses Festspielhaus.
