Fethiye is a Lycian coast town in Turkey with free rock tombs carved into the cliffs above town, a bustling fish market, and the harbourfront promenade, all of which cost nothing to wander. It is the western trailhead for the Lycian Way, a long-distance coastal hike that is free to walk. The town works as a budget base for the wider Lycian coast, with Kas further along the shore and Antalya to the east. Spring and autumn are warm without the peak-summer prices and heat.
