Bridge in Florence
Ponte Vecchio is the medieval stone bridge across the Arno, lined with jewelry shops since the 16th century. Free to cross. The views upstream and downstream from the bridge are some of the most photographed in Italy. Budget travelers cross it, lean over the railing, and enjoy the free spectacle. The jewelry is expensive, but window shopping costs nothing. The bridge is best seen from the Ponte Santa Trinita one bridge down.
