Walk in Florence

Florence Arno Evening Walk

The Florence Arno Evening Walk follows the south bank of the Arno from Ponte Vecchio upstream to the Rose Garden and Piazzale Michelangelo. Free. The route passes through the Oltrarno neighborhood, climbs through the free Rose Garden, and arrives at the Piazzale for the defining sunset panorama of Florence. Budget travelers start the walk at 5 pm in summer, take their time through the artisan streets of the Oltrarno, and reach the viewpoint as the light turns the Duomo golden.
