Chapel Bridge
Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrucke) is the oldest covered wooden bridge in Europe, a 14th-century structure crossing the Reuss River with a water tower at the center and 17th-century paintings under the roof depicting scenes from Swiss history. Free to cross. The bridge burned in 1993 and was rebuilt. Budget travelers cross it, look at the surviving paintings, and photograph the bridge with Mount Pilatus behind it.
