Known as Albania’s cultural capital, Korce is home to the country’s first Albanian-language school and a striking Orthodox cathedral, with cafe-lined boulevards that are free to stroll and a genuine local pace. Albania’s rock-bottom prices make this southeastern city one of Europe’s cheapest cultural stops, where coffee and a meal cost a few euros and the old bazaar quarter costs nothing to explore. It sits near the borders, so it pairs naturally with Ohrid and Bitola across in North Macedonia, or with Tirana back toward the Albanian capital. Spring and autumn are mild and cheaper than the summer festival peak.
