Bitola is a cultured southern town with a long pedestrian street, an Ottoman clock tower, and the ancient ruins of Heraclea Lyncestis just outside the center. Heraclea Lyncestis
An ancient Macedonian and Roman city founded by Philip II, with remarkably well-preserved floor mosaics still in their original positions. Admission is very low and the site sits just a short walk from the city centre.

Bitola's elegant main pedestrian street lined with neoclassical facades from the city's Ottoman-era heyday as the "City of Consuls." Free to stroll with some of the cheapest cafe prices in Europe.
