Tram 28 Route
Tram 28 is Lisbon’s most famous tram line, rattling through Alfama, Graca, Baixa, and out to the Estrela Basilica in a vintage yellow carriage. It costs a standard transit ticket or is included in the 24-hour Viva Viagem pass. Budget travelers ride the full route as a cheap alternative to a guided city tour. The trick is to board at the Martim Moniz terminus early in the morning before the line fills up. Standing room only by mid-morning.
