25 de Abril Bridge Viewpoint
The 25 de Abril Bridge is Lisbon’s Golden Gate-like suspension bridge spanning the Tagus estuary. Free to see from numerous viewpoints. The best free views are from the Cristo Rei statue terrace (south bank, cheap ferry from Cais do Sodre + free exterior), from the MAAT museum waterfront in Belem, or from the Miradouro de Santa Catarina in Bairro Alto. Budget travelers photograph the bridge from multiple free viewpoints and realize it is the backdrop of every Lisbon sunset.
