Thomaskirche

The Thomaskirche (St Thomas Church) is where Johann Sebastian Bach served as cantor for 27 years and is buried. Free to enter. The Thomanerchor (boys’ choir founded in 1212) still performs weekly (free on Fridays, paid on Saturdays). Budget travelers visit Bach’s grave for free and attend a Friday motet for free, hearing the choir that Bach directed in the church where he worked.
