Calle Caldereria Nueva is a narrow street in the Albaicin filled with Moorish-style tea houses (teterias) serving mint tea, pastries, and hookah. Free to walk. A pot of tea costs a couple of euros. The street also has shops selling North African crafts, lanterns, and spices. Budget travelers drink tea for less than the price of a coffee in most European capitals and absorb an atmosphere that feels closer to Marrakech than Madrid.

The Granada Albaicin Sunset Walk is a self-guided evening route through the Moorish quarter to the city's best free viewpoint. Free. From the Albaicin through Sacromonte to Mirador de San Nicolas for sunset over the Alhambra, it is one of the most atmospheric free walks in Spain.

The Palace of Charles V is a Renaissance circular courtyard inside the Alhambra complex, built by the Holy Roman Emperor after the Reconquista. Free to enter (no Alhambra ticket required for this section).
