Basilica di San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo is the burial church of the Medici family, with a plain brick facade that was never completed and an interior designed by Brunelleschi. The church charges a modest fee. The Medici Chapels behind it (paid separately) hold Michelangelo’s tomb sculptures. The outdoor market surrounding the church is free to browse. Budget travelers visit the church for the Brunelleschi interior and browse the leather market outside.
