Piata Mare (Great Square) is Sibiu’s main square, the largest medieval square in Transylvania, surrounded by Baroque buildings, the Brukenthal National Museum (the oldest museum in Romania, paid), and the Catholic church. Free. The square hosts Christmas markets in winter and festivals in summer.
