Petite Venise
Petite Venise (Little Venice) is a quarter of colorful half-timbered houses along the Lauch canal in the southern part of Colmar’s old town. Free to walk. Small flat-bottomed boats offer rides (paid, cheap) but walking the towpath is free. The reflections of the houses in the canal water make this the most photogenic corner of Alsace. Budget travelers walk the towpath, photograph the reflections, and sit at one of the cheap terraces with a glass of Alsatian wine.
