Parque Eduardo VII
Parque Eduardo VII is a large formal park at the top of Avenida da Liberdade, with terraced hedgerow gardens sloping down toward the Tagus River. Free. The view from the top of the park stretches along the avenue all the way to the river and the Praca do Comercio. The greenhouse (Estufa Fria) charges a small fee and is one of Lisbon’s hidden treasures. Budget travelers walk up the avenue from the Baixa, rest in the park at the top, and look back over the city they just climbed through.
