Montjuic Cemetery
The Montjuic Cemetery is a terraced hillside cemetery overlooking the port and the sea, with elaborate modernista tombs, mausolea, and sculpture. Free. The cemetery is the resting place of Joan Miro, Isaac Albeniz, and Ildefons Cerda (the urban planner who designed Barcelona’s Eixample grid). The sea views from the upper terraces are among the best in Barcelona. Budget travelers walk from the cable car station or take the cheap bus and discover the most architecturally ambitious cemetery in Spain.
