The Kunsthaus is a contemporary art museum on the Mur River in a biomorphic blue blob building that locals call the “Friendly Alien.” Paid entry. The exterior, which glows with LED animations at night, is free to see. The building is the most striking contemporary architecture in Austria outside Vienna. Budget travelers photograph the building from the Mur riverbank and decide whether the current exhibition justifies the ticket.
