Grande Ile
The Grande Ile is the historic island center of Strasbourg, UNESCO-listed and surrounded by the River Ill. Free to walk. Half-timbered houses, the Cathedral, and the covered bridges (Ponts Couverts) are all within the island. The Petite France quarter at the western end is the most photogenic area with its timber-framed buildings reflected in the canals.
