Church in Tromso

Tromso Arctic Cathedral

The Arctic Cathedral (Ishavskatedralen) is a modernist church with a triangular facade of white concrete panels and a vast stained-glass window covering the entire east wall. Entry is a small fee. The building is the most iconic modern architecture in northern Norway. Budget travelers pay the modest ticket and see a church that translates the northern landscape into architecture: ice, snow, and light.
