The Village Museum (Muzeul Satului) is an open-air ethnographic museum inside Herastrau Park, displaying over 270 authentic buildings gathered from villages across Romania. Entry is a modest fee. The houses, churches, windmills, and workshops are real structures, relocated and reassembled here. Budget travelers spend two hours walking through a compressed version of rural Romania without leaving Bucharest. One of the best open-air museums in Europe for the price.
