Street in Trogir

Trogir Old Town

Trogir is a UNESCO-listed medieval town on a tiny island connected by bridges to the mainland and the island of Ciovo. Free to walk. The Cathedral of St Lawrence has a Romanesque portal by Master Radovan (one of the finest medieval carvings in Croatia). The Kamerlengo Fortress at the western tip charges a small fee for sunset views. Budget travelers take the cheap bus or ferry from Split (30 minutes), walk the car-free stone streets, and discover a miniature Dubrovnik with a fraction of the crowds and none of the prices.
