St George Rotunda
The St George Rotunda is a 4th-century Roman circular church in the courtyard of the Presidency building, the oldest building in Sofia. Free to enter. The red-brick rotunda contains medieval frescoes uncovered under layers of whitewash and plaster. The building sits inside a complex of Roman ruins visible in the surrounding courtyard. Budget travelers walk into the courtyard, enter the rotunda for free, and stand inside a building that has been in continuous use since the Roman Emperor Constantine.
