Sky Garden is the highest free public garden in London, spread across the top three floors of 20 Fenchurch Street, the City tower most people know as the Walkie Talkie. Three storeys of landscaped gardens, an indoor observation deck, and an open-air terrace give panoramic views over the Thames, Tower Bridge, The Shard, Tower of London, and St Paul’s Cathedral. Entry is free, but a timed slot has to be booked online in advance, so it pays to reserve before turning up. This is the budget answer to the paid observation deck at The Shard: the view is lower, but it costs nothing, which makes it the best free elevated view in the city.
