Serdica Roman Ruins
The Serdica ruins are the remains of the ancient Roman city of Serdica, discovered during metro construction and now displayed in an open underground passage between the Serdica metro station and the Presidency building. Free. The ruins include streets, walls, baths, and a 4th-century church, all beneath the modern city center. Budget travelers walk through them on the way to or from the metro and explore 2,000 years of history without paying anything or going out of their way.
