Segovia Aqueduct
The Aqueduct of Segovia is a 1st-century Roman structure of 166 granite arches reaching 28 meters high, built without mortar and still standing after 2,000 years. Free. The aqueduct runs from the outskirts into the Plaza del Azoguejo in the city center. Budget travelers take the cheap bus from Madrid (1.5 hours), stand beneath the arches, and see the most impressive Roman engineering in Spain.
