Salthill Promenade
Salthill Promenade is a 2-kilometer seafront walk west of Galway city center, ending at the Blackrock diving tower where locals swim year-round. Free. The tradition is to kick the wall at the end of the promenade for good luck. Budget travelers walk from the city center to Salthill, kick the wall, and swim at Blackrock if brave enough. The Atlantic sunsets from here are some of the best on the west coast of Ireland.
