Church in Reims
Reims Cathedral is the Gothic cathedral where French kings were crowned for over 800 years, with a facade of over 2,300 sculptures including the famous Smiling Angel. Free to enter. Chagall designed stained glass windows for the apse in 1974. The cathedral was severely damaged in World War I and rebuilt. Budget travelers take the cheap TGV from Paris (45 minutes), visit the cathedral for free, and see the building that made French kings legitimate.
