Les Arenes de Nimes
One of the best-preserved Roman amphitheatres in the world, still used for concerts and bullfights. Built around 70 AD, it seats 24,000 and dominates the city centre.

Pont du Gard
A three-tiered Roman aqueduct bridge spanning the Gardon River, a UNESCO World Heritage Site about 25 kilometres northeast of Nimes. Walking across the top level and swimming below in summer are free. Parking is paid, but the structure itself is open access.
