Square in Nice
Place Massena
Place Massena is the grand central square of Nice, with red ochre buildings, a neoclassical fountain, and seven resin statues on illuminated poles by Jaume Plensa that glow in different colors at night. Free. The square connects the Promenade des Anglais to the Promenade du Paillon and is the geographic and social center of the city. Budget travelers pass through it at night when the colored lights transform the square.
