Square in Toulouse

Place du Capitole

Place du Capitole is Toulouse’s grand central square, dominated by the neoclassical Capitole building (city hall and theater) with its pink brick facade. Free. Toulouse is called “La Ville Rose” (The Pink City) because of its distinctive pink-red brick buildings, and the Capitole is the finest example. Budget travelers stand in the square, admire the pink architecture, and walk from here into the old town’s narrow streets.
