Neptune's Fountain

Neptune’s Fountain is a 17th-century bronze fountain on the Long Market (Dlugi Targ) in front of the Artus Court, the symbol of Gdansk. Free. The fountain has been flowing since 1633 and depicts Neptune with his trident. Local legend says the city’s famous Goldwasser liqueur (with flakes of real gold) was created when Neptune struck the fountain with his trident and turned the water to gold. Budget travelers photograph the fountain and continue along the Long Market to the Green Gate and the waterfront.
