Founded by Prince Albert I and perched on a cliff edge, this museum combines marine science, aquariums, and rooftop terrace views. It is paid but remains one of Monaco's most worthwhile cultural stops for the building and setting alone.
The square in front of the Prince's Palace offers free views over the harbor and the Monte Carlo skyline, plus the daily changing of the guard at 11:55. The old town surrounding it, Le Rocher, is the most walkable and least expensive part of Monaco.
