Museum in Konya

Mevlana Museum

The Mevlana Museum is the mausoleum and former dervish lodge of Rumi (Mevlana Jelaluddin), the 13th-century Sufi poet whose works are the most widely read poetry in the world. Free. The green-tiled dome, the sarcophagus, and the dervish cells form the most important pilgrimage site in central Turkey. Budget travelers visit for free and stand at the tomb of a poet who wrote “Come, come, whoever you are” 800 years ago.
