Freiburg Minster
Freiburg Minster is a Gothic cathedral with what many consider the most beautiful church tower in Christendom, a filigree spire of carved stone that rises 116 meters above the Munsterplatz market. Free to enter. The daily market on the Munsterplatz sells local produce and Freiburg’s famous lange rote Wurst (long red sausage). Budget travelers visit the cathedral for free, eat a sausage from the market stalls, and climb the tower (paid, small) for views over the Black Forest.
