Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille
The second-largest fine arts museum in France after the Louvre, with works by Rubens, Van Dyck, Goya, and Delacroix. Entry is affordable and first Sundays of the month are free.
Vieille Bourse
A stunning 17th-century Flemish Renaissance exchange with an arcaded courtyard used daily by second-hand booksellers and tango dancers. The courtyard is free to enter and one of the most beautiful spaces in northern France.
Vieux Lille
The old town quarter with cobbled streets, brick and stone townhouses, and some of the best eating in northern France. Free to explore and packed with estaminets (traditional Flemish taverns).
