Kutna Hora is famous for its Bone Church (the Sedlec Ossuary) and the Gothic Cathedral of St Barbara, easily reached as a cheap day trip from Prague by regional train (about 55 minutes, no booking required). The two headline sights charge modest entry fees, but the UNESCO-listed medieval town center is free to wander, and the terrace views over the valley below St Barbara cost nothing. Spring and autumn keep the day-trip crowds thinner than peak summer.

Kutna Hora's old town is a UNESCO-listed medieval silver-mining center with the Cathedral of St Barbara (a Gothic masterpiece rivaling St Vitus in Prague), the Italian Court (former royal mint), and cobblestone streets. The cathedral exterior is free to admire.
The Sedlec Ossuary (Bone Church) is a small Gothic chapel in Kutna Hora decorated with the bones of approximately 40,000 people, arranged into chandeliers, coats of arms, and garlands. Entry is paid at a modest price.
