Dingle is a tiny, colorful harbor town on the Wild Atlantic Way, where the best of it is free: the harbor, the coastal walks around the peninsula, and traditional music sessions that fill the pubs most nights at no cover. The surrounding Gaeltacht is a genuine Irish-speaking area, and the scenic Slea Head loop costs nothing but petrol. It is a long haul west of Dublin, so most budget travelers fold it into a wider road trip.

Gallarus Oratory
This perfectly preserved early Christian stone church has stood watertight for over 1,200 years without mortar. The oratory itself is free to visit if you park on the road and walk in.
