White Fortress
The White Fortress (Bijela Tabija) is an Ottoman-era fortification on the hillside above the Old Town, higher and quieter than the Yellow Bastion. Free. The view stretches across the entire Sarajevo valley with the minarets, the cathedral spire, and the Olympic mountains framing every direction. Budget travelers hike up from Bascarsija in 15 minutes and find a viewpoint with fewer people and a wider panorama than the Yellow Bastion below.
