Tunnel of Hope
The Tunnel of Hope is a museum at the entrance to the tunnel that ran beneath the airport during the Siege of Sarajevo (1992-1996), the city’s only connection to the outside world. Entry is a modest fee. A section of the tunnel is walkable. The museum documents the siege and the resourcefulness of the people who kept the city alive through it. Budget travelers take a cheap taxi or bus to the suburb and pay the small fee for one of the most moving museum experiences in Europe.
