Pierre Loti Viewpoint
The Pierre Loti viewpoint sits on a hilltop above the Eyup district at the far end of the Golden Horn, named after the French writer who frequented the cafe here. Free to visit. A cable car runs up from the Eyup waterfront for a small fare. The view sweeps across the Golden Horn to the old city skyline. Budget travelers combine this with a visit to the Eyup Sultan Mosque (free) and ride the cable car one way, walking up or down through the cemetery for free.
