New Mosque
The New Mosque (Yeni Cami) stands at the foot of the Galata Bridge next to the Spice Bazaar. Free to enter. Built in the 17th century, the mosque anchors the Eminonu waterfront with its twin minarets and large courtyard. Budget travelers visit between the Spice Bazaar and the Galata Bridge crossing, entering for free and seeing an imperial mosque that gets far less tourist pressure than the Blue Mosque or Suleymaniye.
