Street in Milan

Navigli District

The Navigli is Milan’s canal district, once an industrial waterway system designed partly by Leonardo da Vinci, now a nightlife and dining neighborhood with bars, restaurants, and vintage shops lining two canals. Free to walk. The last Sunday of the month brings a large antique market along the Naviglio Grande. Budget travelers come for aperitivo (buy one drink, get free buffet food at many bars) and discover that Milan’s nightlife does not have to be expensive.
