Podgorica’s cable-stayed bridge over the Morača River has become the modern symbol of the Montenegrin capital. Free to cross on foot, the bridge is especially photogenic at night when illuminated. The riverside path beneath it offers a pleasant walking route.

The Ottoman-era fortress ruins sit at the confluence of the Ribnica and Morača rivers in the old Stara Varoš quarter. Free to explore, the remaining walls and the old clock tower provide a rare link to Podgorica's pre-Yugoslav history in a city that was heavily bombed in WWII.
The point where the Ribnica flows into the Morača is a natural gathering spot with clear turquoise water, rocks for sitting, and views of the old town. Free and accessible, locals swim here in summer.
