Bridge in Erfurt
The Kramerbrucke (Merchants’ Bridge) is the longest continuously inhabited bridge in Europe, a medieval bridge spanning the Gera River with 32 half-timbered houses on both sides containing shops, galleries, and cafes. Free to cross. The bridge looks like a narrow street until you realize there is a river below. Budget travelers cross it, browse the shops, and photograph it from the riverside below where the houses and the bridge structure are visible.
