The Kordon is Izmir’s waterfront promenade along the Bay of Izmir, a wide pedestrian boulevard lined with palm trees, cafes, and views across the bay. Free. The promenade runs for several kilometers and is where Izmir goes to walk, jog, and drink tea in the evening. Budget travelers walk the Kordon at sunset and see Turkey’s third-largest city at its most relaxed.
