The Istanbul Archaeological Museums are a complex of three museums in the first courtyard of Topkapi Palace: the main Archaeological Museum, the Museum of the Ancient Orient, and the Tiled Kiosk Museum. The Alexander Sarcophagus (not Alexander’s tomb, but one of the finest ancient sarcophagi in the world), the Treaty of Kadesh (the world’s oldest known peace treaty), and artifacts from Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Anatolia are here.
